I've installed Limewire and cannot get it to run. I get this message saying Limewire needs Java Runtime Environment 5.0 or above.....and I've gone to java.com: Hot Games, Cool Apps and downloaded what appears to be the right downloads and still its no good.
Checking in Control Panel I have two references to Java installed, they are: J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3 Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1 Anyone able to help...???

Go to your add/remove and uninstall both of those Java's...Then download and install Java5.11 using the JRE offline installer (4th one down)...
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5

Hmmm, try all of these, hopefully they will do the trick...
Uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer... LimeWire: The Official Site for the Fastest File Sharing Program on the Planet Then delete your preference folder... Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should
