Default Opening Problems

Well right first off i dunno if im in right bit nevermind.

Ok then the problem.

I double click limewire (the new version) and it opens that lil square saying things are loading and what not like it should do.

But when its finished, thats just it, its finished. Limewire doesnt load, doesnt even flash on, simply does not start.

I read through some other threads and ive installed java and such, and still no luck. Any ideas?

Wonders, Try these fixes below. Make sure you delete all versions of Java Before you dn/ld this version. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove.
Hope this helps.

Some people have had trouble with the latest Java updates. Try this version instead. Use the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions before installing this one (it's easy enough to reinstall a later Java if it turns out that Java's the problem).
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Next, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here. Your search for all limewire files & folders may have already done the same thing, but try this anyway - just in case your search didn't include hidden files & folders.
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options (including days to keep incomplete files), you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

If that doesn't help, try reinstalling the latest version of LW (4.14.8) again & make sure to use the offline installer (when you click to download LW & the download box pops up, cancel that & you'll see the option to use the offline installer).

As i said in an earlier post, ive already done all of that after looking at other peoples posts. Limewire simply refuses to open, does all the prep stuff "loading human interface" things and then the small square boxes closes, limewire would normally open here but it doesnt, isnt in my task managers processors or anything

I was just TRYING to stress how important it is to make sure all versions of Java are DELETED BEFORE dn/lding the version in the Link. Also using the Offline Installer. Limewire needs Java to run and obviously it's not runnung if it's not showing up in task manager

Yea Bot, I just don't ever remember seeing the connection type when I dn/lded LW. There is a function within LW where you can choose your connection type but not on install. Did you dn/ld from here?? Lime Wire » Official Website & Free Download, BitTorrent «. This is the ONLY site to get the REAL Version.
If I am way off base here, Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
