Thumbs up LW will not download !!!!!!!

Hi,
I had LW installed before but due to a PC cleanup I lost it. It used to work perfectly.
Now I want to install the new LimeWire 4.14.8 version (offered in the LimeeWire site) but I have nor been succesful.
I get to download the LimeWireWin file but when I try to execute it this windows shows up:

Error opening file for writing:
C:\Archivos de programa\LimeWire.exe
Click Abort to stop the installation,
Retry to tray again, or
Ignore to skip this file.
Abort Retry Skip

After clicking "skip" several times the following message appears:

This installation is corrupted. Please download and unistall LimeWire again.

I tried unplugging Windows firewall but..... no luck there either.
I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Thanks

What Java version have you been using? Some people have had problems with the latest Java update 1.6.0_02. If you've been using that version of Java without a problem, reinstall it. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before installing this one.
Java SE Downloads
If that Java version's no good then try this older update. Same deal with deleting other Java versions before installing this one.
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Next, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, so once LW's reinstalled you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset all of your options.

Last of all, reinstall LW & make sure to use the offline installer (when you click to download LW & the dialog box pops up, cancel that & use the option to download the offline installer).

Default Cannot download Java !!!!

It seems like I have some other problem. I already uninstalled LW and Java and tried to download both Java versions you indicated but an error appears while trying to do it. The error estates:

"There is a problem with this Windows Installer sofware. There is a program that is executed as part of this installation that has not ended as expected. Please contact the technical support personnel or the software supplier."

What can this mean?
