Cool LW pro installation need to be abort

Hello colleagues at forum:

After removing previous version of LW thru Add and Remove Programs, I tried to installing the recently downloaded LW pro newer version to my XP laptop. First I temporarily disable the Windows firewalls and anti-virus software then attempt to installing the newer LW pro version but I had to abort because a message " An older version of Lime Wire appear to be running. You must exit the old version before continuing with installation." I confirmed the successful removal of the previous version and directly remove any other oldest LW files found on windows search. No matter this, again the same message appears in my computer when attempting to update LW. I want to know what to do for resolve the problem.

Thanks

Uninstalling via Add/Remove Programs can cause problems...the correct way to uninstall is via Start > All Programs > Limewire > use the uninstall option there. Or, installing a new version will automatically remove an older version

Open Task Manager, check whether there's a LW process running. If there is, end the process. Now see whether Pro will install. If you still have problems, use your computer's search to look for all files & folders with limewire in the name & delete what you find. Then try reinstalling Pro.

Just make sure that you aren't saving your downloads to a folder with limewire in the name...or you could end up losing those when you delete files & folders after searching!
