What am I missing???

My brother purchased LimeWire Pro a day ago. We were able to install the software on his laptop, we have the short cut on his desktop, start downloading music and thought we were good to go. However, the next day, when we turned the laptop back on, the shortcut on the desktop was missing. So, I went back to the c drive, clicked on the icon, and it then prompted me to install the software again. I did so, went to the file where we saved music in yesterday, and the music was gone. So, for grins, I shut the computer down again, restarted it, and the same thing happened. I had to go back to my c drive, click on the icon and it ran the installer program again. I know I must be missing something!!! What little box am I not checking at installation, or is there a bigger issue? I have tried over and over again for the past couple of hours and am exhausted. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Once I install it, it runs fine, perfect, no error messages. It is when we go to shut the computer off, that it looses the installation and we have to reinstall again. Plus we then loose our music. Any help is appreciated!! Thanks

Do you have LW installed in your programs folder? What security programs are you running? What os are you using? Try searching your hdd for the files you've d/loaded.
