hi everybody first time on here and i think ive been conned ive been using l/w pro for years now and went on this morning to be greated by a flashing banner telling me there was an important security update available but after downloading it its taken my pro off and gave me basic again ive went back into the email register and its very kindly ofered me a discount but ive paid once and dont think you should have to pay again so my advice is ignore any corispondance with l/w or itl cost you money

If you bought any major program, some years later wanted a later version, they normally make you buy the new version or give you a discount being a previous customer.

LW Basic is fine & it is free. There are also nice alternatives which are free & less trouble-some such as Phex.

There are also scammers selling illegal copies of LW Pro. When a user responds to the upgrade notice LW will replace the illegal copy with LW Basic.

i didnt actually want a later version i was quite happy with the version i had i only did it as it said i was a SECURITY matter which your supposed to do but you live and learn i wont be conned by lw again

Many of us here don't really agree with Limewire's sales tactics. Try the older version in my signature or Phex, which is getting better and better.

sleepless, I've taken your above advice and downloaded the earlier version. I am now downloading again.
