Default Limewire keeps freezing up

Hi, gang;
Here's one for you. I just downloaded Limewire 5.0.11 (basic) and once it installed I had that foolish welcome to limewire what's new window pop up. After watching the what's new section I clicked on don't show again when Limewire starts up. Well, I might as well left it unchecked as it continuously pops up in my face. After shutting it down finally I tried to configure my folders for my downloads only to have that freeze up tighter than a miser's wallet. After two hours of frustratingly foolish repetitative problems with those two things I finally got annoyed and went back to 4.18.18. Can someone tell me if there's a way to stop those dang screens from coming up all the time and any way this side of hell to get in and configure your folders in 5.0.11?
