ERROR: An older version of LimeWire appears to be running
 

I get this message when trying to install. Yet I cant find limewire on this computer?

"An older version of LimeWire appears to be running. Please exit the old version before continuing with installation. Once you have exited LimeWire, click ok.

(Note that LimeWire may be running in your system tray (next to the time). To exit, right-click on the lime icon and choose "Exit".)"

Have you ever had LW on your computer previously?
If yes, delete the LW preferences folder; Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

or if Vista delete the whole LimeWire folder found in preferences folder http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html

I'd also recommend instead installing this Offline version of LW; http://www9.limewire.com/download/LimeWireWin-full.exe unless you need LW 4.18

Im on XP.

Not 100% sure if had LW on this comp before. But I tried both 2 & 3 and neither worked (the folders must'nt have been there).

Currently downloading the LW full.exe and will report back if it works. Thanks
