LimeWire program will not open

Hello,

I have downloaded limewire, I double click on the icon, the blue and black box comes up for limewire pro 5, then the box disappears and nothing else happens. If I double click multiple times in a row, then I can proceed for a few seconds with the library opening, but it is like I never started. I have to check the options and accept the terms before the main page will come up. Then, the main page will only be up for a few seconds, and shut down, with 3 or 4 icons by the clock. When I try to click one of the icons, they disappear also. I have tried to download it several times to no success, checked my safe list for firewalls, and looked at every other thing possible that I can come up with, including latest version of JAVA, driving me nuts. I would really like some help if anyone has a clue.

Are you using Vista? Right-click the installer & choose run as Administrator. :) If still not work, choose compatibility mode & run as win XP after right-clicking it. :)

Oh something else to try: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/333278-post2.html but of course, use your Pro installer, not the one suggested. :) Your computer 'might' also need a reboot. That is sometimes an issue, especially if having reinstalled Java. ;)

If still problems, post back as much of these details as you can: System details - help us to help you (click on blue link)

Another thing was, the first time I downloaded LimeWire, it asked to update JAVA, and I hit the wrong button and canceled it. On my home computer, I ran it and had no problems, it works fine. Could it have something to do with canceling the JAVA? I have updated it manually and it still does the same thing.

There are a couple of other things to try in this thread: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...tml#post331559
