![]() I am running Limewire version 4.8.1 and Java version 1.5.0_06 on my old Windows 98SE operating system. It works flawlessly and I never bothered to upgrade to Pro. Is it possible to run these two programs on Windows XP operating system? I read that the old versions use less resources but I do not know whether I would encounter a problem trying to install them on Windows XP. Would they work on Windows XP? I know that new software often does not work on old operating systems but what about old software on more recent operating systems? Thanks in advance for any help you may provide. |

![]() if I remember correctly that version was released well into the lifespan of XP, so yes it should work just fine....if not then try running it in compatibility mode
