Default NSIS Error :/

[posted this in the wrong forum before :P]

Hey there
Everytime I download Limewire, I try to open it to begin set up, but it just comes up with "NSIS Error- The Installer is corrupt or incomplete. . ." Or a something like that. I've tried using the responses that other people with the same problem have been given, but it keeps telling my computer that the links are forbidden. Help please?!?

thankss

ummm i guess i'll jsut fill in the list. . .

1. windows 7
2. I just have the one firewall, called "windows firewall"
3. 4 gb of ram space
4. apparently I have 436 gb free out of 415. . . I thought i had a 4 gb computer? *sigh* obvioudly not a techie
5. Broadband (wireless. . . if that makes a difference)
6. Brand name of modem: D-Link number thingy: DSL-2740B
7. Trying to connect form my house
8. I believe the Limewrie thingy is Limewire 5 and my java thing says jre-6u20-windows-i586-s. . .not sure what that means but i hope it helps
9. I'm pretty sure the answer to that is Bigpond or windows internet explorer
10. Simple test failed It says "Oops! Internet Explorer could not connect. . ."
11. The internet connection? cos I'm sharing that with our home computer (this is my laptop), but the limewire connection is just me.
12. This is my first try at downloading Limewire, but I've tried to download it about five times, as well as the offline version.
13. I can't actually open it, "NSIS Error. . ."
14. Huh?!?
15. McAfee virus proptection or something. . . but i've disabled the firewall for limewire.
16. Currently living in Australia
17. I had never tried to download Limewire before, but nothing else has changed dramatically.

Hope that helps figure things out. . .Thanls to whoever takes the time to reply to this

I had almost finished answering your first post & I crashed then forgot to get back after becoming busy.
Seems like something is blocking you. Possibly ports for allowing LW to connect are blocked. Else it's your security settings. The fact you cannot access various links on the forum suggests security settings problem.

McAfee may have a firewall also but you suggest you disabled the firewall.
Setting up an exception for LimeWire in your software firewall (click in link), however if LW is not yet installed this might be difficult to add.

Offline installer is always the best to use. Another alternative is the Other Systems version Get LimeWire for Your Platform - Lime Wire & check Download ‘Other’ version & simply unzip & use!

There is a chance you may need to port forward the D-Link device for your Laptop. If this option is used, must set up static ip address first.
1. Static ip for Windows 7

2. Port Forwarding Limewire on the Dlink DSL-2740B but for LW's settings, instead use those shown here for LW 5: Manual port forward instructions & sample image
