Angry Limewire 5.5.8 This installation is corrupted

I had a version of Limewire basic free it worked perfectly until yesterday when I chose to download and install the updated free version 5.5.8.

During installation, Spybot detected a Win32 problem and wouldn't proceed. By the 3rd try, Spybot no longer detected a problem but it didn't matter because instead I got this message up in it's place:
This installation is corrupted. Please download and install Limewire again

I've tried about 30 times. All give the same error message of a corrupted file.
I'd like my old copy of Limewire back, it worked perfectly. Unfortunately I don't know what the version was as the updated version deleted it.
I've cleared my browser cache so many times, as advsed on the FAQ. There's no other problem other than for some reason it registers as corrupted.
Please help
I'm not computer literate but can find my way around with help.
Oh and through browsing the forums there was some mention of using windows search - mine won't start.

OK as per the forum instructions this is the information about my laptop, connections and everything else I could find;
1/ Limewire 5.5.8 - attempting to achieve
last known version build number unknown and it was deleted by the attempt to update this new 1 (in the network share folder has 2 limewire versions - 5.2.13.0 and 5.3.6.0)

2 - 15 removed no longer needed

This is the second report like this I"ve heard of Spybot giving a false positive response. Try disabling Spybot until after you have installed LW.

That doesn't help. Every single new file that I have downloaded from the website gets stuck at the same point and tells me that the file is corrupted. Since I doubt that is the case there is another problem, Spybot isn't stopping the file anymore.
Have you seen the pictures attatched?

I think that the problem isn't with the file that I downloaded from Limewire but either with Spybot deciding that this was a malware threat "execNoWindow.exe
win32.Agent.oc" or the initial installer messed something up.
Now since I can't even get it to install without the corrupted file msg popping up. Then maybe I need to wipe Limewire off my laptop and begin afresh. So, given that my "windows search option" isn't working, can you give me any help on what I need to delete to wipe Limewire off, preferably without losing the music I downloaded too.

I have the latest version of Java.

LW won't install - the message that pops up is the file is corrupted.
I've deleted and freshly downloaded perhaps now 50 times the basic free version of 5.5.8 and it won't install.
Spybot isn't involved now.
So rather than Spybot be the issue, the problem is the corrupted file. How do I fix that?

I've looked through my computer and I think I have around 3 folders all identified as Limewire. For some unknown reason I can't get windows search to run and in the Add/Remove section of the control panel, Limewire doesn't show up, it's also not listed in the all programs part of the start menu.

Please help me to fix this or better yet safely and thouroughly delete LW off my laptop.

Try this Reinstallation Technique and delete the LW preferences folder also as described (saving the downloads file.)

LW is not supposed to be uninstalled via the Add/Remove programs CP.

With regards to the Win32.Agent.oc, Spybot registers it as a trojan tries to connect to the internet via the Internet Explorer in background and install a wallpaper on the users desktop.

Download the OFFLINE version of LW http://www9.limewire.com/download/LimeWireWin-full.exe (do not install yet!)
This leads to a 403 You don't have permission to access /download/LimeWireWin-full.exe on this server.

Prior to posting, I did spend some time reading through previous posts and options on what to do.
In between my posts and yours, I even tried a restore to a previous date. Unfortunately Limewire still wasn't usable. So I have now removed all LW folders off my laptop. I will attempt to reinstall this latest version.

If that doesn't work due to the assosciated trojan and corruption of the installer, then I can attempt to do the java part of the reinstallation but what do I use to install LW?

I looked back through my history on Spybot.
20/08/2009 16:22:10 Encountered and terminated Win32.Agent.oc in C:\Program Files\LimeWire\execNoWindow.exe - wouldn't you agree that there's a definite problem with it? I've googled it and so many hits come back with it being a trojan.

Thumbs up Limewire vers 5.5.8 - installed

Often no-one posts a solution to what they did, they just say it's fixed, which is unhelpful.

I looked up how to disable SpyBot's Teatimer, found a web page which detailed it, recalled doing the exact same thing last year.

Disabled it, restarted, ran the installer with no problems, enabled teatimer, restarted and ran the scan - came back all clear.

Thank you for your help Lord of the Rings
, took a few tries to get back to your original suggestion.

The history for Teatimer showed that it deleted each encounter of Win32.Agent.oc, regardless of whether it notified or not. Without that, the installer became "corrupted". But it's not just SpyBot that detects it as a trojan.
