These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. 2. Spamming and excessive advertising will not be tolerated. 3. There will be no excessive use of profanity in any forum. 4. There will be no racial, ethnic, or gender based insults, or any other personal attacks. 5. Pictures may be attached to posts and signatures if they are not sexually explicit or offensive. 6. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other threads and see where your post will go. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. 10. Posts should have descriptive subjects. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit. 13. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. | After an Uninstall of Lime Wire and a subsequent download of Lime Wire (which was a hassle in and of its self), Lime Wire is stuck in the opening screen (Lime Wire logo with a green background) at "12%(Loading HTML engine...). Any other attempts to uninstall and re-download Lime Wire have produced the same result. Ultimately, this is the best result thus far, but it has not gotten any further than that. Previous to that, I have had other problems downloading Lime Wire after I Uninstalled Lime Wire from my computer. I am not sure if the original Uninstall deleted ALL of the Lime Wire files and duplicate files of Lime Wire now exist after a second, thidr, and fourth download attempt of Lime Wire. Would duplicate files create these kinds of problems for Lime wire? Do I have to COMPLETELY clean my computer of ANY files of Lime Wire (excluding downloaded files) in order for a reinstall to work? I would appreciate any guidance or help. Sorry for the spelling errors. Please excuse my lack of any technical jargon, I am still in the dark ages with reagrds to computers. jmavsmith71 |

| How did you uninstall limewire? If you're doing it via Add/Remove programs then that can cause problems!! The correct way to uninstall is Start > All programs > Limewire/Uninstaller Use your computer's search to look for all files & folders with limewire in the name. If you can't delete them, reboot into safe mode & then try. If they still won't delete, try one of the tools here... Incomplete Download File won't delete at all. Then when that is done... Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version.... Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 Then install limewire using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link... Lime Wire » Download LimeWire If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s... Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista

| jmavsmith71, all you have to do, is find your limewire folder and create a new complete folder. It probably got deleted somehow. In your limewire folder create new folder then rename it complete. It worked for me. |

| Thanks Pinhead, and I mean that in the nicest terms. When you are talking about the "complete" folder, are you refering to completed downloaded files? Are you saying that once I download Limewire, just go into the limewire folder and create a new "Complete" file where all the downloaded files will go? again, thank you jmavsmith71 |

| KK, My friend and I both just had an excruciating experience with this on our windows vista laptops.. btw, we were running firefox .... Here's how we BOTH fixed this problem.... this may only apply to vista machines tho... sorry We changed the shortcut to and the limewire.exe file itself both to compatibility with windows XP sp2 by left-clicking the icons and going under the compatibility tab. Then we left clicked the shortcut and chose "run as administrator" after doing this the program hung up at 19% and said something about a "save folder" being damaged or missing. after hitting the "OK" button on this dialog box another dialog box came up asking us to choose a folder to stand in for the "missing or damaged" saved folder... We simply created a folder named "saved" and this solved the problem.... |

| ive unistalled java but i couldnt download the offline verison so i had to do the online verison then i downloaded the limewire offline and my limewire is still the same. what do i do now? i have windows vista by the way |

| If Coffeennicotine's suggestion doesn't work for you try this. Uninstall Limewire Go to search for files, type in limewire and delete any files that come up. Make sure you delete the shared folder. It seems to be the main problem. Now just reinstall limewire and it should run smoothly. |
| ||||
| Make sure you do this FIRST before searching for any limewire files & deleting them. Otherwise you will get into all types of problems with getting LW operating at all. Generally the search for limewire files is best sorted by deleting the LW preferences folder; Easy instructions & sample image Vista users also see LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista |
