| Try following the instructions in this thread as the LimeWire folder is hidden... But once you find it don't delete it because this particular post is for deleting that folder, just right click on it, then open it and cut and paste the hostile list into it....Just follow Lotr's screenshot's... | I am having some trouble finding the upgraded version dl for limewire. I have 4.12.11, Pro, how can I upgrade to the one that uses this hostiles list?

| You can download the 4.13.2 (current Beta version) using your Pro personal download page Or, if you don't have your download page bookmarked, go here & enter the email address you used to buy Pro. Providing you bought Pro less than 6 months ago, you'll be able to download the Beta Pro version. http://sales.limewire.com/support/? If your Pro's out of date, you can download the basic Beta version from the basic download page http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

| how do i do this for frostwire? EDIT: I put it in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\FrostWire is that right, the filters to show block messages from specific hosts is blank tho.. ?? EDIT: the filters i meant that were empty are that the prefs filters section on blocked hosts show nothing and is blank.. Last edited by nowshining : May 14th, 2007 at 03:19 AM. |

| The filter section in the options is not connected to the new modules involved with hostiles.txt. It may still work but the new code is far faster and more efficient, enabling FrostWire to handle a list hundreds of times larger yet still be faster. If you always log in as "Administrator" that location is the right one. If you have more than one of those folders then copy it to all of them. |

| So, was the last update March 3rd, like it shows in the Original post? And is that where I would look to see if I need to delete my old list and ad a new one?

| Updates are more frequent than indicated and are deliberately randomized so the larger spammers and hostiles can't evade the blocks. Try once per week even if it looks like nothing has changed. If you subscribe to the thread using the link I provided you will get reminders by email. I frequently get the forum to send out those reminders even when no changes are visible. |

| HEY, AW.... How ya doin'... May be a bit weird, but I've installed BS on 7 different comps in the past 10 days... No rest for the wicked, what ? Anyway... What I've certainly observed, and have seen no reference above to this point, is that one must FIRST run BS 'normal' and allow the first normal connect sequence to occur. Meaning, simply, if you install BS and immediately copy the latest hostiles list into the BS system, without having allowed a first launch and connect after install, YOU WILL NEVER CONNECT. It appears to me that the first connect sequence after the initial installation MUST be allowed to proceed.... Then, close BS - Shutdown PC... Start PC and then bung the 'new hostiles list' into your BS \Program Files directory.... Man, I tried this maybe 30 times total on the above mentioned machines.... Only way to connect at all with the new hostiles list was to copy the list into an already configured and at least one time connected to hosts with the intial and standard BS installation.... Make sense or do I need a tad more local 53% rum ? Say yes !!!! lol (That's 106 Proof by the standards of The Peoples Imperialistic Kleptocracy of Dumfukistan)

| Does anyone know how to add the lists from B.I.S.S. Blocklist Manager to Limewire? |
| ||||
| BLM is one of the tools I use to build the list, and I merge in most of the Bluetack lists too. Of course, I also use 79 more (at last count) lists, most of which I generate myself from scans of the network. Urs, just prime the old pump with fresh gwebcache.dat and connect.txt files from your old /db/ folder and you can skip the extra gyrations. ![]() |

| Hey Aaron, I have dn/lded and placed Hostiles list in App Data file in Limewire and I can't find any evidence of the list in LW. Am I missing something?? If you need more info Please let me know. I have screen shots if that will help you help me. Thanks, Remoc |

| There's no indication of the presence of the list within LimeWire itself. This is deliberate, because any attempt to view such a large list tends to lock GUI up until Java gets the whole thing into a listview. I don't think it was hooked up to the logging systems either because performance is the highest priority and the Patricia Trie code was a first for any Java program. |
