...er, eckchewally, there are NO CENTRAL SERVERS involved or applicable to the GNUTELLA Network...

WE are ALL servers... and WE are NOT servers...

This is peer to peer... meaning, with a VERY technical description, us doing stuff with us.

...er... that's it... It's all us being connected (with some really nifty apps) to, uh, us.

"Democarcy" ain't got nuthin' on Gnutella Network.
Believe it.

If you want a far more specific explanation and description of the 'workings' of Gnutella Network p2p 'realities', pls do some basic ( and also fairly deep and tricky) searching on the same subject both here, within these Gnutellaforums, and via Google...

Magic stuff... And, soon to be forgotten (if not already), we owe a HUGE debt to the grand loonies of WinAmp... Check out the TRUE history of the GNUTELLA NETWORK !!!

Or, you perhaps meant that the probs that the minority may be experiencing were due to their Internet Service Providers... maybe that is what you mean re: 'servers' ?

Yes, ISPs can be the prob, but normally the probs for most folks out there are related to:

Firewalls
ISP 'caps'
Restrictions on LANs in university and/or 'office' based systems
Incorrect Java installations
and

yes...

A compulsion to run... RUN, before even having a fundamental grasp of the 'concept of crawling'...

i.e., if you don't know how to Save, Copy, Move, Create Folder(s), Delete and UNDO such actions within the Operating System you are using [ Windows - Linux - Mac] you are trying to 'play the game before you have even learned how to read the rules'...

= failure
= frustration

Right ?

So, without the basics... I mean THE BASICS... being learned we get

= fuggin' nasty posts here !

Me ?

When I test/use a p2p 'client'...
I TRY to make probs... So I can learn from them... This is certainly true for the great majority of 'Super Moderators' and Moderators here...

For me-
I am no great afficianado of LimeWire, but I am a respecter of the folks behind it all...

As many times as I have tried to MAKE probs and do as many really stupid things as I could imagine, it....

Well, it always worked.

This post too long now... me stop...

Again, many thanks for your simple, BUT REALLY valuable comment... Every product, system, function and office has detractors who garner 'publicity'...
Those, of the majority, remain silent, normally...

We need more supporters, such as yourself, here...

btw... Any use, by me, of the general pronoun 'you' in the above is NOT aimed at "you" (i.e. tambay1001... I only intend it as the 'understood 'you'... OK ?

Anyway, cheers, 'Chuckles' and many thanks again for you being here....
