There isn't any p2p filesharing program which is safe, since in decentral p2p, noone can control what people share.
As far as we know, Phex itself doesn't facilitate spreading virusses, but as Sleepless said: When you download somethign which contains a virus and then open it, you get one.
Best make sure, that you have a decent virus scanner with updated virus definitions. And scan every file you download before opening it. |
