There was a solution posted on another thread that worked for me.
I am operating on Windows XP, connecting through a cable modem (Comcast) that's hooked to a LinkSys wireless router, with my computer hardwired to the router. I use McAfee anti-virus.
As I had been running a previous version of LimeWire, it was suggested that I open Documents and Settings, then open the folder with my user name. Inside that folder was a sub-folder named ".limewire." It was at the top of the list of sub-folders as it started with the dot (.). That folder contained my old LimeWire preferences.
By deleting that folder, and then restarting LimeWire, I had no further connectivity problems.
Keep in mind, by trashing the .limewire folder, I had to reset all my preferences for LimeWire. It was as if I was opening the program for the first time. But I have had no further issues with connectivity since taking those steps.
Try it and see if it works for you. |
