![]() What's the deal with LameWire OOPS, I mean LimeWire ! I was suprised to view so many people w/the same exact problem I'm having, that's not counting the 100's of other related or non related issues their having. Like many others I also have a brick wall in front of the globe icon, and my connection status reads "You Are Currently Connecting To The Network". I've been currently waiting to get connected to the network for the past 2 weeks(That's how long I've had It running to currently connect) ! I started out w/LW Basic everything was okay, but kinda slugish. So I decided to switch to LW PRO, I used It for 1day the next day logged on and noticed brickwall and all the other "COOL FEATURES" LimeWire has to offer. Since then I've been busting my head trying to fiure out what could be the problem. I've configured my firewall settings, allowed it through the firewall, added the port, configured modem/router settings, and a few other things I got of the net. But I'm still here busting my head. ![]() |

![]() There was a solution posted on another thread that worked for me. I am operating on Windows XP, connecting through a cable modem (Comcast) that's hooked to a LinkSys wireless router, with my computer hardwired to the router. I use McAfee anti-virus. As I had been running a previous version of LimeWire, it was suggested that I open Documents and Settings, then open the folder with my user name. Inside that folder was a sub-folder named ".limewire." It was at the top of the list of sub-folders as it started with the dot (.). That folder contained my old LimeWire preferences. By deleting that folder, and then restarting LimeWire, I had no further connectivity problems. Keep in mind, by trashing the .limewire folder, I had to reset all my preferences for LimeWire. It was as if I was opening the program for the first time. But I have had no further issues with connectivity since taking those steps. Try it and see if it works for you. |
