OUCH! .. well it certainly should not be doing that. And it does sound like a virus of some nature if it is re-opening continually.
You could always revert back to LW 4.18.8 Pro, see last sentence & 2nd attachment of this post: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...lw-4-18-a.html. There is a chance the present LW 5 version just is not going to work well on your machine. A reasonable % of people have downgraded back to LW 4 either because LW 5 did not behave well or because they didn't like it.

Particular LW versions work differently on different computer set ups. So perhaps waiting for the next LW release might be wise.
