I am using Wondows2000 - I am not having a problem. I don't believe that there is a specific problem with Windows 2000.
I do believe that WindowsXP home edition is a pile of cra^H^H^H not very good software.
The professional version of WindowsXP is sufficiently similar to W2K that it can be regarded as the same product with a different front end.
I suspect that many people having problems with XP are using the home edition.
I haven't seen many reports of people having problems with W2k.
Unfortunately, this doesn't help you much with your problem.
