Slapshot (Movie)

This is a nifty old Paul Nueman movie about a 3rd rate hockey team. I'd love to get a copy of it. If anyone out would like to share you'd make my day. Have searched repeatedly but it's not on here. Video store doesn't have it either.

Thanks all.

Hey, I've got it, but it's on VHS...sorry, it's of no help to you unless you can figure out how I can transfer a VHS movie onto my computer to share.

RULES?!? EGADS! We file sharers certainly wouldn't want to violate anyone's precious rules now would we boys and girls?

A thousand pardons Oh Mighty Moderator! Please inform your poor, ignorant subjects; is it against the rules (unruley?) to ask for something you couldn't find by searching for it?

Sorry folks, didn't mean to offend, nor did I intend to break any rules. [Edit] really is a classic movie, even here on the West Coast of the Great White North - tho the fools here know squat about hockey!

@capnrob: Try reading the forum rules. Talk about "movies to get" and similar is dangerous to the forum itself, for it could be forced to close down by some fraggin lawyers in teh entertainment industry, if these topics get discussed here. Try forums, which are concerned with the files-side of filesharing. This forum is about the softwares with which the Gnutella Network works (about most of the Gnutella-Clients you can get), and we want to be able to keep it online for a long time.

We supply a platform to get and provide support for the programs, and as such Gnutellaforums is much more useful (imnsho) than as a files-forum, which might get closed down sooner or later.

many thanks, arne_bab !!!

Well put !

Be a bit silly to threaten this great help site just to aid a few folks who have not yet figured out how to answer some of their own 'search' questions, hmmm ?

And, SMs should NOT participate in assisting in illegal activities...

RIGHT, et voilá ?????????????????????????????????

et voilà April 20th, 2005 03:14 PM

Damn Urs, I know what I'm talking about  The movie isn't available to buy from everywhere, except maybe from ebay auctions or collectors!!! It's from 1977. Now, I'll tell you to shut up gently, gracias, you're not funny

Oh, and I think we talked about deleting other SM posts in the mod forum enough, this is clearly an exemple of crap moderating from your side.

it would be differant if it was a new relese movie . i and moast other people wouldent see anything wrong with d/l ing a movie that old ....its basecley no differant from just seeing it or tapeing it off of TV. its the new releses the mpaa is worried about losing money on and not the movies that have been all but forgotten and that wouldent make any more revenue any way. allsow the vast magorety of people who download music and movies dont have the cash to buy the dvds/tapes/cds ect anyway. so the recording industry isent losing any money anyway because the people wouldent buy anything even in the abcence of fileshareing. but the riaa/mpaa cant get that thru there dence heads so there just going to be greedy and ignorant about it. btw i love what capnrob sed! rules are made to be broken.....

Seems I'll have to write a disclaimer:

I am in no way against the sharing of any material you see fit.

Sharing is, what keeps any p2p-network running, and downloading older movies is legal in germany, where I live (but sadly not resharing them it seems), but even the matter of legality is no deal for me at all.

There are some legal risks, but judging from the number of Users p2p-networks have and the number of sued people, you still have a very slim chance of getting into problems (less than 0.1%).

The only Problem when discussing this here is: This forum is well known, and it is surely also well known to the RIAA/MPAA, so they will look for any chance to shut it down (because that would destroy a resource for Gnutella, weakening teh support for the users).

We don't want to give them this chance.

Share what you think right, at any time and any place, but please don't talk about files in here.

The rules are there for a reason. If you are against that reason (keeping this forum alive and safe from lawyers), then you can sure break the rules, but remember, that you are then actively attacking something into which the mods in here have put much time and effort, and expect a corresponding answer.

It's a shame that you have to explain the obvious to people, it seems that even the simplest of things, such as the MPAA looking for any legal reason close down this forum, have to be set out and drummed into the minds of selfish or (deliberately) ignorant people.

To all those that don't know, the sharing of copyright material without any recompense to the copyright holder is illegal, the age of the material is irrelevant.
If a person is going to use, as a defense, that he only shares old materials that he cannot buy in the shops he will get short shrift from any judge hearing the case. There are online stores that sell old stuff, and at less than a US dollar or UK pound a song there really is no excuse for people to set themselves up for the MPAA to pounce (or attack this forum).
