Default Cannot connect. Used too have no problem connecting

I recently reformatted my hard drive. I used to have limewwire on my hardrive before i reformatted it, and it worked like a charm. Now I have downloaded LW again and it fails to connect. It start it up and it just says "Quality:Connecting" It used to say turo charged before i reformated my harddrive. I have WinXP comcast digital cable, and symantec firewall and windows firewall. (I know for sure that the problem is not the internet or the firewalls because i made sure they said they were allowing LW to access the internet. And because i had bothe the same firewalls and the same internet company before i reformated my hard drive.) Please help.

Tyler

Does LimeWire ever complain that you do not have any connection to the internet? If not, leave it running for like half an hour and see if it connects.

Well, my guess would be, that it's the firewall after all.

What type of connection do you have & what modem/router brand name & model number(s) do they have? Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?

I meant the model number of your Linksys not the serial number. Most Linksys modems use what's known as NAT technology whic blocks most port access. You will need to forward a port to give LW access but you need to give me the correct model number for me to give you the correct instructions on how to do it.

Also you will need to configure all your firewalls to allow LW total access: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml Double-check your settings!

Without doing these 2 things you have at least 2 things that are blocking LW's access to the net even if only partially blocking it.

Update your Java to: Java 1.4.x OR to Java 1.5 (take the JRE)
