![]() I can give ou the main page for portforward.com & I suspect the differences between forwarding a port between the models is not dramatic. I'd guess they'll be similar. May I suggest you look thru the Linksys models (at bottom of page) & choose the one that is most similar to your modem softw. Use Port 6346 You will also need to follow the instructions on setting up a static ip. After doing that, force ip within LW: Force ip instructions & sample image After doing the above things you should find you'll connect much moe easily. Run LW for at least an hour to give it a chnce to connect properly 1st time around. Then check things by dong a test: Bug Report instructions & sample image & hopefullly your result will be true. Particulrly if you share files. |

![]() Wait i can't say that just yet. When I did that bug report thing where it says incomingsession or whatever that was It says false. But I am Fully connected up to the bar "Excellent". And i dont know what else o do because i made sure my firewalls were allowing LW so........................? |

![]() Sorry I forgot to post the link to port forward.com Your router is probably similar to mine in that I can dwnld but for anybody to upld from me I had to forward a port. Here's the page: http://portforward.com/routers.htm & you'll need to set up a static ip if you don't already have one (instructions link on that page.) |

![]() Click on any of the Linksys model names in brown text. They're all links! Then on the next page, click on 'Port Forwarding for the Linksys B....' That will take you to the page which has the instructions & sample images. You will need to set up a static ip for port forwarding to work so click on that link to learn how to do that. So one of these models use an interface very similar to yours. Probably best to have a look at one of the BEF models 1st. After you have done that, then open LW & force ip: Force IP instructions & sample image Last edited by Lord of the Rings; December 1st, 2004 at 02:24 PM. |

![]() Try this one: Port Forwarding instructions & Triggering for the Linksys BEFSR11 Static IP Address guide & click on your Operating sytem version. eg: See win XP then click on that. Are you using USB or Ethernet with your Linksys router??? Ethernet would be much more prefered c/c it's faster & USB can draw either or both power from your pc & also processing power which can slow your pc down! ![]() That's what I said earlier. Your model is not there. That site does not have all models of all brands. I can't find instructions for your specific model. But the instructions will be similar. You'll probably find it in your hand manual about how to forward ports. Other possibility is to use dmz I guess but you'd need to have a good firewall set up if you did. According to this http://www.linksys.com/products/prod...id=592&scid=29 the Linksys BEFSR41 is similar. But if your model doesn't have the ability then I don't know. Do you use it in USB or ethernet mode? USB can use your comp's power & or processor. I don't have any more answers. Perhaps you can double-check your firewall settings. Use force ip & wait for LW to settle down. Oh & keep your java up to date, etc. Java 1.4.2 (click on link) |
