Download. http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...lease4ppc.html Install. Try a java app as LW. Your Java VM was corrupted hence you need to reinstall it. Ciao |
OK --that helps a bit. Java is crashing (JavaNativeCrash_pid278.crash.log). What kind of processor does your Mac use? AppleMenu->About this Mac should show something like "Processor 1.4.2 GHz PowerPD G4" Once we know that, we can then redownload java, and try to reinstall it for the PowerPC, here's the link http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...lease4ppc.html the intel macs need to use http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...ase4intel.html |

OOh--that's not good. I'm assuming you did a safe boot and a normal restart after the install. What did Console show this time? |
no I didn't do a safe re boot...so now what should i do? uninstall and try angain using safe boot? |
after a safe boot, and then a normal boot, try to start LimeWire and note what the Console shows. |
Oh .. I'm slow typing at this time ... Safe boots & repairing of permissions is recommended after installing new software. Then reboot normally of course before you open LW. BTW which version of QuickTime do you have? Do you still have remnants of QT 6 or earlier on your system? Have a look at your receipts folder & see if there are earlier versions. This might not be a fix but possibly be related. Tell us if you find earlier versions. I was wondering ... unless you've done a complete reformat of your disks, I presume you still have some old softw on your system. |
