Out of curiousity do you have a SCSI drive? Do you also have Classic environment installed (such as OS 9)? Your G3 was around the 600 MHz right? The last official G3 was 450 MHz but I recall there was an option to speed them up beyond this. I can't remember how ... unless it was turning the clock up or something.

My My I'm slow typing tonight! No I was asking if you ever had reformatted your disks. I'm NOT suggesting you should.

Perhaps you should look at this: QuickTime 7.0.4 bug stops LimeWire from opening!

JewlsB, can you tell us more about MenuCracker? It was causing some kern protection failures according to their bug reports http://sourceforge.net/projects/menucracker

There was no response to a request for uninstalling it.

You must have a blue & white G3 then. No that model didn't come with SCSI HDD's which is a type of HDD & interface. It has 4 ATA HDD slots instead but with the option of SCSI. Nowadays SCSI drives are much faster than ATA. According to a conversation I had with an apple tech ... for high end work ... SCSI can get up to over 70 K rpm (not for public retailing unless you have a lot of money) which is about 10 times faster than ATA HDD's. They might even be faster I can't remember. But that's heresay I guess.

Sorry ... I misunderstood ... I thought you had a desktop model. Ignore my comment about such then. Did you check the QuickTime issue?
