If there's no other brand or model on the modem, you could ring Shaw & ask them.

From what I've seen on Google, Artesyn make power supplies. So that won't be the model. Have a look on the modem again (underneath too), the model might have letters & numbers together.

Exclamation Damn threads !!!!

Hey all ! How goes it w/you ?? I'm O.K.-a newbie to the forum, been lovin' L/W for a few yrs, now-Here's MY problem..... this seems to be the only place I can post-I looked for an "I agree" at the end of rules -there isn't one-I "click"ed"the blue line" to input my sys.info & config., AND NOTHING-Sooo.... Hi, How You Doing??
Haven't had any problems-except for bearshare clients D/L-ing from me tend to get stuck sometimes-I am pretty sure that the prob there is w/them-has happened through WIN vers's:98,ME,ME PRO,2000,2000 PRO,and XP PRO-didn't keep Vista around long enough to even add my shared file- WHAT A P.O.S. program !
Anywho's, looking @ the ISP's, when they drop off and re-link, they get the rest of the file....So, anyway, since I'm at this thread, did anybody ever tell the people w/ firewall issues they can scroll over the f/w symbol and, in MOST cases, get info about the f/w, and then simply open the program(F/W),goto settings/permissions, and allow L/W with full program access ??Seems to be an easy fix, even for a newbie????

I don't know whether your device supports UPnP. Telnet into it to find if there's a UPnP option. If yes, then enable it, save settings, relaunch LW. Telnet address is probably either 192.168.1.254 or http://192.168.1.254

If there is no UPnP option then forward a port. Find your model here in the left column under Billion http://portforward.com/routers.htm Most important step is setting up a static ip.

All wireless devices have internal NAT firewalls. That's why a port needs to be opened so LW can access through it. Once you've done this, your port test for http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ should work & your brick wall icon for LW should disappear.
