When I click to download it opens LW and at the download tab there's the file but size is "? KB" and status said "queued" for a few minutes then changed to "need more sources." This was with firewall on and off and now even with the firewall off I only have 1 bar at the bottom and I can't search anymore.

Well that suggests to me your ISP is the problem, not LW. That was a site you downloaded the magnet link from. So why can you downld files from sites with your browser but not LW. Ask your ISP technicians why this is.

Default Kinda the same problem

But worse I think... Im Having the " Limewire was unable to initialize and start. A firewall might be blocking Limewires access to internet or loopback ((what the heck is a loopback?)) connections on the local machine, please allow limewire to access the net and restart limewire" message everytime i try to start it.

Heres MY story.

Just upgraded to highspeed cable thru my cable tv service. Internet explorer and Aim work great! mozilla firefox, limewire, various online games, and other p2p downloading programs i got off of the net, cant find the connection. Now why is that. 2 programs work on the cable but nothing else. my spyware blocking programs cant even find the connection for updates for themselves.

And i reeeally wanna use lime.

Lime and other p2p sharing programs worked fine on dial up.

after the upgrade, boom, nothing.

People told me check my windows xp firewall and other security things.
Sounds weird but, Im pretty sure i dont have a firewall. Should be in control panel right? nope...

My norton is not running at all cause it expired, my spyware protection progs are shut off, my network connection is running perfectly on ie and aim, but nothing else... No limewire! Eh well This should do for now. Any help would be appreciated, to me or the guy above me.

If nothing helps me here im gonna have to call ...gulp... microsoft tech support... haha

Could you expand on this a bit. If you have a complex setup, there could be other factors involved that block Limewire.

Well firstly, just to be sure that you know, LW and several other P2P applications all worked fine while still having the very same setup, although I know sometimes things can happen. Our setup is as follows: we have a main server which is directly connected to a scanner and an external burner. Then we have 2 printers and our internet which are all connected into the wireless router. The server and 3 other computers all have wireless cards to be able to access each other and the devices. Finally there's a third printer which is directly connected through my computer. Since I would have to set a static IP for every computer and then set these for the different devices to work with themselves this would take awhile and would almost certainly end with compatibility issues which I would prefer avoid alltogether. I hope this all helps and is pretty clear, just ask if something is uncertain or does not make sense.

If LImewire just stopped working without anything at all being changed, then it sounds like your ISP and not your setup.

But anyway it should be enough to just forward one port in the router to the server IP, since your computer is directly connected to it. Choose some high number (64049 seems to be a popular choice) so it doesn't interfere with other tasks. Then just change both the listening port and forwarded port in Limewire to 64049.

I've talked to other people using my ISP and they can use LW and other p2p applications, it must be something else. If anyone has any kind of help it would be appreciated.
