as regards the router. i am not sure. it is rather expensive for me, but if it is required i will have to think about.
btw i run thro ethernet on my windows xp.

what i cant understand is that it worked for about a week, then the firewall went up.
im not really a good prigrammer, or good on the pc, scared i will make a mess of it.

not sure I understand what you mean here.This 'might' be due to the ISP. They may have detected you using a p2p program & lots of bandwidth & have put something there to block it.A couple that came to mind ... no I don't think there was any easy solution.

Why not try Phex to see if you have the same problems. It's another gnutella program. They also have their own section on these forums. Phex doesn't have many language options however.
