| I figured out the problem! Go to your connections tab. (if you don't see the tab click on View, then Show/Hide and then Connections) Any server that starts with the numbers 204 blah blah blah is BAD. Remove it and Limewire will automatically detect a new one. Keep doing this repeatedly until all these bad servers are gone. You should be able to search again. Another way to check a bad server is by clicking on the server and then clicking browse host. If you get an error msg, remove the server. |

| OMG!!! Thank you so much!!! I've been struggling with this kind of problem for the longest time! I don't know if anyone else had this additional symptom, but, my Limewire kept telling me it was detecting a firewall when it wasn't searching. I tried every combination of deleteting and adding exceptions for the Windows firewall, and completely uninstalling my security software, but nothing helped! Nothing accept this! Thanks again! |

| Try it again...http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...58&postcount=6 If it still doesn't work try these fixes... Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE offline version....(5th one down) http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer... http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...oadfree2.shtml If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36420
