Default What Worked for Me

I had trouble for months (okay, I didn't make it a priority though) and tried everything I could find. I finally found this answer on a thread and it worked. It's quick and easy to try, so you might as well try this before you start uninstalling, deleting and all that other stuff.

In windows (I have XP)

Go to Start My Computer
Go to c:\programs\program files\limewire
then click (or double click) on the file that reads
limewire.jar
(and under it says executable jar file)

Once I clicked on that, i went through the short setup language thing again and it worked fine!!!!

Don't know what'll happen when i shut down again of course, so i'm cramming in some downloads now!

I just made a shortcut of that file to my desktop.

Oh ya, I heard it helps if you disable the "start limewire at startup option" from another thread.

So I'm going to post this in a bunch of threads in case it helps anyone else.

I got this advice from another thread so thank you to them!!

I'm not sure where to look for the Java. Does "jre1.5.0_03" or "jre1.6.0_01" sound right?

jre1.6.0_01...Sounds like the one...The only problem with the above solution is everytime you close LW down and then go to start it up again, you will have to do this process again...

I would uninstall both of those Java's and get the JRE 5.11 using the offline installer... (5th one down)

Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5

Hi, I am having trouble too with connecting. I have had Limewire and then Limewire Pro for 2 years and last week it just stopped connecting and remains on one bar. I have disabled my Firewall to check if that was the problem and it wasn't that and I have the newest Java Version Installed. When searching through the Limewire Website for help I tried to email them for support and was informed that the email I signed up to Limewire with was not a valid one and then got a message saying that if I bought and installed Limewire Pro over 6 months ago (which I did) then my subscription had expired which it hasn't has I paid for a 4 year subscription. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
