Ultrapeers are chosen depending on your connection and if you have the option enabled to be one...
I could be an Ultrapeer one day and then I might not be one for another month and if those Ultrapeers that you have listed are not online you won't be able to connect...

So in other words if you are having trouble connecting to Ultrappers you could just go to your connections Tab in limewire, if it's not showing up go to View > Show/Hide and make sure the connection tab has a tick next to it...
Then click on the Hosts and remove them and let Limewire search for some more...
The problem I was having was *Finding* peers for any kind of connection to the GNutella network. For some reason, the UHC process for finding a list of peers wasn't working for me. It wasn't that I couldn't connect to the peers.

When you make a connection to the Gnutella network, the peer you are connecting to, will send a list of other peers. It was that first connection that I required to the network since the UHC process wasn't working, and from the messages on the forum, I am not alone in this problem.

If you go through the peer list on my link, most of the peers you cannot connect to, probably because they are behind a NAT Firewall that is preventing incoming connections. The Ultrapeers that I am talking about are the ones that a connection can be established with. The List I have is generated from the GhostWhiteCrab server. All I would want from Limewire would be for them to post the peer_cache file Like I have and maybe filter hosts that cannot be connected to.

We are currently in discussion about this topic at the moment and this is what one of the SM who knows his stuff has suggested...

When anybody runs out of reliable addresses to connect with the best solution is
to add new ones, not just throw away the ones that don't work. LimeWire might
recreate a default list when you delete the old one but that's pointless when
nothing on that list works.

A list hosted on a web server is essentially useless unless continually updated by a
live LimeWire 24 hours a day. That's why it is best to wait for the need before
posting one.

It doesn't matter if the first few nodes you connect to are not ultrapeers because
they will still tell your LimeWire where to find more hosts.

First two things I would try...
Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder...
Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should

5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54G v2
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? house
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LimeWire 4.13.8 Pro/Java 1.6.0_01
