Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network.

Using your browser go here: test worked http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.yes my computer is sharing the connection with a ethernet wire between the computers and a router 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? dont know ecurity programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall ![]() in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). |

![]() Don't run more than 1 software firewall at a time. Choose the one you want to use, make sure it's configured to allow LW & disable any others ![]() Some people have had connection problems with Java 1.6.0_02.Try this version instead. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version(s) before installing this one. Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 If that doesn't help, If that doesn't help, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 2 here & also point 3 if you've used newer versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location). Fixes for LimeWire This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later. What happened when you did the port test (#10 in the 'system details' list)? What's the model of your Motorola? Is there an external router (not the Realtek ethernet controller)? |

![]() Examples of other p2p: BearShare, Phex, Frostwire, torrent apps...other file sharing applications. Try port forwarding for your router (it has a firewall), the instructions are here. Port Forwarding for the Dlink EBR-2310 Don't forget the step of setting up a static IP address first, or port forwarding won't work. Make sure that LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within the router are the same number. |
