![]() Hi all, I am having problems connecting with LW, I am not a computer expert but have tried giving the program permission with my firewall and still no connection. My computer and program details are below of what I can find if someone can help me please. 1. OS Version: Windows 7 2. Window Firewall - I have allowed the program through the firewall 3. RAM: 4.00GB (3.80 useable) 4. System Type: 64-bit operating system 5. Hard Disk Space Available: 420GB of 453GB 6. Connection Type: Broadband Wireless (I hope this is right, it's the USB stick that goes into the side of a notebook) 7. Trying to connect from home 8. LW Version: 5.5.8 Java Version: Java 6 9. Internet Provider : www.blinkit.net.au (Optus I think) 10. I did the test by putting http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ in the browser and it said Internet explorer cannot display the web page. 11. I am not sharing the connection with any other computers. 12. This is my 1st time at using LW on this notebook. 13. There are only grey bars on the bottom left of the LW screen 14. When I go into the advanced tool option there is nothing written in the box above 'Add A Connection' 15. Security Program: McAfee Total Protection - I have allowed LW full access with this program. 16. I live in Queensland, Australia I hope all of this info makes sense to someone and can help with my problem. Thanks, it would be greatly appreciated! ![]() Thread merged Last edited by birdy; March 27th, 2010 at 12:22 AM. Reason: Merging threads |

![]() Rylee09 & redrooster If your ISP is "bandwidth shaping" your P2P connection in order to discourage P2P usage then there is only one thing you can really do, find another ISP. You see, ISPs the world over have been put under pressure by their respective governments (lobbied for by the record and film industry organisations) to either ban or severely restricts their customers' P2P usage. And, suffice to say, redrooster is probably lucky that they admitted to him that they were blocking P2P communications because most ISP either arbitrarily invoke their Fair Usage Policy (aka FUP) or simply will not admit to supplying you with a restricted service. There might be a temporary way around your ISPs restrictions but as soon as they find out about your work around they will block you again.
