please help(No connection)
 

Heres all my details, please help!

1. OS version? Windows 98
2. What firewalls you have? no idea, how do u learn this?
3. How much ram? ------
4. Hard Disk space available?----
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) cable from router
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?router netgear 56mbps
7. Where are you trying to connect from: student house
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.Limewire 4.14.10, java 1.6.0_02
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Virgin media
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? Yes sharing a router through USB adapter
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. 1st try
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? the first block is red, all the others are green _
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? im using UpnP and the no is 48553
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Norton antivirus 2006 although its out of date
16. What country are you living in? uk

Ive tried all the help things e.g the firewall and changing settings but nothing has worked it still tells me it hasn't finished connecting to the network please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xx

Try this - it worked for me

[1] Uninstall the old version before installing the new -- delete the old LW folders from the Programs directory before installing the new version
[2] Ensure that you have java script J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 (Jre ver 5) if not download from here:-

Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

· Uninstall Limewire by using LW uninstall program not the add/remove control panel
Start -> All Programs -> Limewire -> Uninstall

· delete old LW folder from programs directory:-
c:\programs\Limewire <--- (delete this folder)
