Connection Issues

G'day,

I've just purchased Limewire Pro but for the life of it, I can't get it to connect. I've got Norton 2008 and have tried everything possible, so if anyone can help with getting me connected, that would be sweet.
Cheers!!

Make sure that any other firewalls are turned off & that Norton's configured to allow LW. The info below should help, even though it's for NIS 2007.
PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

If that doesn't help, please give some details.

Connection Issues number 2

OK - so I've worked out that my Norton is all good, as I took my laptop to work and got connected to Limewire straight away. My ISP is Telstra (I know...useless, but hey) and my Modem is model SBG900. I have WPA Security settings on it, which is not he usual WEP that Telstra likes you to have. Telstra have told me it's because of that, that Limewire is not working...don't really believe them, but if anyone knows anything about the modem I have and what I need to do to let it accept Limewire...I would be forever grateful. I've got Limewire Pro and can't use it!!...Arrrrggggghhhh!!!!:bangh:

Try port forwarding for your Motorola, the instructions are here.
Port Forwarding for the Motorola SBG 900
Don't miss the step of setting up a static IP address first, or port forwarding won't work. There's a link to static IP setup within those port forwarding instructions.

LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within the modem should all be the same number.

Thread will be merged with yesterday's thread on the same topic!

Try this:-

[1] Uninstall the old version before installing the new -- delete the old LW folders from the Programs directory before installing the new version
[2] Ensure that you have java script J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 (Jre ver 5) if not download from here:-

Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

· Uninstall Limewire by using LW uninstall program not the add/remove control panel
Start -> All Programs -> Limewire -> Uninstall

· delete old LW folder from programs directory:-
c:\programs\Limewire <--- (delete this folder)

Hope this helps -- please let us know
