Port changing issues and not connecting

Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network. (not about connecting to files, that is a Download/Upload Problems section issue.) Please supply system details as described in the forum rules.

I've managed to get it to connect

well, I've managed to get FrostWire to connect, and if I re-install LimeWire it will connect as well, turned out to be ISP problems, but i'm still having the problem with changing ports.
When I type a new port number in and press "Apply" or "OK" the options window freezes, which in turn freezes the whole application - it seems to be with both LimeWire and FrostWire - operating system issue??
