Search and connectivity problems Here is what it going on: First off im using windows XP. The first day i downloaded Limewire, it worked; i was able to download three files. I started downloading another two and they got to 81% and 21%. after that it couldn't find any sources. also every few seconds the connection would disconnect. It says im behind a firewall but when i check it, my computer would say that its not able to start a firewall. My searching problems are also annoying. I would try to search for something and no results shows up. I've tried deleting the preferences folder(didn't work), tried updating java offline (didn't work), turning off tips(didn't work), turning off autoconnect(didn't work) and thats about it. can anyone help me. its starting to get really annoying. |

(you must show all hidden files) [1] Open windows explorer select Tools à Folder Options à View à Show hidden files and folders. [2] In windows explorer look for the Limewire Folder – go here:- c:\documents and settings\username\applications data\LimeWire (or) c:\documents and settings\username\limewire [3] Ensure that limewire is completely off (check that it isn't in the system tray-bottom right-if it is click on it and select exit) now open the .limewire folder and look for and delete the gnutella.net file (see image below) http://www.imagef1.net.nz/files/LW_g...1196869679.jpg [4] download a new version from (here) and save it to yr desktop [4] Drag the new gnutella.net file from your desktop into the limewire folder. [5] Close the LW Folder and start up Limewire If this doesnt work click on Limewire Links (If LW Will Not Connect) and work yr way through the fixes - if these dont work try (connection problems) if yr problem remains pse post yr system details here |
