Hmmm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ????????????????????? er, if you are using the same computer (that won't 'allow' LimeWire to connect) for accessing the internet and these forums, than the probability (very high) is that you are doing so through port 80... (btw - Never configure anything but your browser to use port 80.) So, if the above is correct (keeping in mind that you said that the scan you did reported that ALL ports from 0 to 65000 were not open), how are you having these pleasant chats with all of us, now ??? I think the first thing to do is to remove the URL to that site from your favorites !!! I note that no one has yet asked you the current 'silver-bullet' question: Have you recently 'updated' or fresh installed LimeWire ? If the answer is, "Yes," than we probably move into other issues and perhaps a fix. Big question is always, "What's changed ? What is new ?" Hang in there ! p.s. You might want to see this > Alternate PORTS for a bit more 'background' info. |
My Limewire is set to use port 36818 by default. And yes I have recently installed the newest version of Limewire and Java and I have just updated my ZoneAlarm firewall. My computer has done this before you know. I spent 8 months last year without being able to connect to Limewire because aparently it had detected a firewall. Then one day it starts to work again all by itself. Now its stopped working again, but I thought this time I'm gonna try and sort it out myself and see what the problem is. Unfortunately I've run out of solutions to try. |
Update, heh ? Oh, well... If LimeWire Will Not Load Check it out... LotR and others will probably concur that you need to do a 'clean uninstall' and a fresh install using the 'download to install later' versions of LW and Java... But, by all means wait until you've had a chance to talk with the others... Getting there...! |
I've been to the If LimeWire Will Not Load page and followed all the instructions and it got me absolutely nowhere. Does anybody actually know what is wrong or are people just going to keep suggesting solutions that I've already tried, are wrong, or are completely irrelevant? |

Could possibly try using a proxy. Some Proxy links on various pages of http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-limewire.html under 1. INSIGHT PIPEX Problem __________ http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...k-tiscali.html (Overall owner of PIPEX / HomeCall is Tiscalli.) |
Oooops... Sorry about that. Missed the previous post. Anyway... Download Phex and have some fun. Phex - Download I, and many many others here are so totally fed up with the nonsense that is coming out of the so-called LimeWire developers that... ah... won't say it... Just try Phex. You'll like it and it works. And, you can actually communicate with the developers. |
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha !!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like a setup, hmmm ? It isn't... I had no idea that LotR was even here ! But, hey, great minds think alike and all that... So, Phex for you ? |
I think Phex connects to the network with no problem but I don't get any results no matter what I search for. |
If possible, try it or/& during off-peak ISP periods, such as after midnight. See if that makes any difference. |
