Default avg causing connection problems

I just bought and downloaded the latest version of AVG security, and now I can't get a connection to LimeWire. I've followed the directions to make an exception to the Firewall, but can't seem to get past it.
Anyone gone or going thru this with AVG?

Ok have you tried this -- open your AVG Security -- and in your firewall go to the connections tab or applications tab (the part where it shows all the programs that it has permitted access to your computer) now filnd limewire -- hilite it and delete it --- close down your computer and restart -- open/start Limewire -- now a popup box from your AVG Security should show with permit/deny -- click on permit and that should do it -- if yr problem still remains click on (system details) and fill in as much as you can and post back here

Default Confused

I'm missing something - I opened AVG, and then the Firewall Component. Nowhere can I find anything that will get me to a connections or applications tab. I looked under tools and all other menus and see nothing to guide me.
It sounds like once I can find Limewire to delete it I'll be on my way - I'm just not that computer savvy, I'm afraid.

mikey, cancel my last set of instructions -- do this -- disable your firewall -- now see if you can connect to Limewire -- To disable your avg firewall do this -- double click on the avg icon in the system tray (bottom right )
this will open your AVG 7.5 internet security - test center - basic interface. Double Click on Control center -- right click on Firewall -- select / click Deactivate Firewall -- NOTE - when the Firewall is deactivated it's control panel within the control center displays the following 3 buttons - Activate - Show log - Properties --
if you still cant connect it's not your firewall -- if you do connect it is your firewall configuration -- make sure you enable it after your test (click on Activate to enable your firewall. -- let us know how you get on please
