![]() Hello. Like a lot of the other threads, I am also having connection problems with Limewire version 4.18.4. I have read all the stickies Things I have tried: Everything in the stickied thread. That includes replacing the Gnutella file. (I tried that once, Port forwarding. (Although I set up my port forwarding to allow Limewire, I still see a message in my router's security log saying it blocked the connection whenever I try to connect limewire. Unfortunately, I forgot what the message exactly said On to my System Details: 1. OS version? Windows XP SP2 2. What firewalls you have? I use the Windows SP2 Firewall 3. How much ram? I have one gigabyte of ram. 1024 gb. 4. Hard Disk space available? My hard drive is 150gb. I split it up into two, with my C drive having 40 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) I use DSL from AT&T. (formerly known as SBC Yahoo) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? My DSL modem is a speedstream 5100. My router is a Microsoft MN-500. 7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? I am trying to connect from my house. 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. Limewire version: 4.18.4 Java Version: 1.6.0_05 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? AT&T DSL 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It says "Your test worked!" 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I am sharing my connection through a router. I have a wireless adapter attached to my other computer to pick up the signal from my router. 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I have used Limewire for a while now. Maybe about three to four years. This is the first time I have encountered this problem. 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? _ click here to see Sample image Yes, I see a brick wall. 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? I have tried port forwarding 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall ![]() I use Avast! 16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). I live in California, United States of America. ![]() Hi itzjas0n the problem is more than likely your firewalls, windows & The other step is to open the application's listen port to incoming traffic. The first step doesn't do this. You must tell the firewall to allow incoming traffic on port # xxxxx - whichever it is that you're using. Finally you could always use port forwarding (I know you tried it already but did youy use these instructions) (portforwarding speedstream 5100) Most important is setting up a static ip (static IP Instructions) let us know how you get on

![]() I am pretty sure the problem is within my router. I cannot access the IP when I was following the instructions on the portfowarding speedstream 5100, but I have tried the portfowarding for my router, Microsoft MN-500. My Limewire started to connect a day after I posted my original post, but a couple of days later, it stopped connecting. Sorry for the late response. I've been very busy doing school work. |
