![]() I'm in the same boat, I've used Limewire before and it worked fine, but all of a sudden I have a firewall issue. The Windows Firewall (XP) is off and the Norton Firewall has Limewire set to allow. Any help would be appreciated! Works now, thanks all!! Last edited by 4033; June 9th, 2008 at 05:33 AM. |

![]() If you've updated your LW & suddenly can't connect, then try these two things first: 1. Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) _____ VISTA users see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html 2. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/318253-post2.html |

![]() Hey, I'm running XP, with Intel p4, high speed dial up wired to my Lynx router, for home. I up'd from, I think LW 4.14 To 4.81.2. I think I have firewall issues w/ my Symantec; It never seems to stream hits. When I looked into adding exceptions I got lost somehow-- Am I going in the right direction |

![]() User Cant Connect - LimeWire * Configuring Norton Internet Security Reconfiguring Norton Firewall If you are on dial up then you should disable all LW's performance options. Also use manual connect is wiser for your type of connection. Dial up may take ages to connect sometimes, even up to 30 mins. Sharing on dial up is very difficult. Getting hits might be small. Many people block out dial up search results due to difficulty in downloading from them. With dial up you are using the same bandwidth maximum for upload & download combined, they are not separate. |
