1. Make sure your VISTA firewall is turned off.
2. make sure a firewall rule has been allowed for LW to have full access thru your Kaspersky firewall.
(turn Kapersky firewall off temporarily & see if LW connects, if yes, then you will need to make a firewall rule for LW.)

If possible, try to find details of your ISP & modem/router. Most routers have internal NAT which can block LW, question is whether it has UPnP & whether it works efficiently.

1. the vista's FW is turned off, although i'm having a hard time to figure out how to let kaspersky allow limewire's access. i used to have a good connection on my limewire but these past few days it won't let me to.

1. Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

2. (a) If LW Will Not Connect, __ (b) Problems with the search, __ (c) Hostiles List

3. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/318253-post2.html

4. For your software firewall, check User Cant Connect - LimeWire
