having trouble connecting
 

someone help me !!!
a friend turned me onto this limewire stuff and I cant get it to work. I had morpheus and kazaa a long time back and loved being able to get music. I would like to see if I can get this to work before I give up and pay morpheus for services.
I can get the programs to load but when I go into it it wont connect. I have fixed my firewall and everything. I even uninstalled and installed a million times. limewire still says it detects a firewall and the connection only has a little green in the first bar.

I have windows xp
my firewall is off
i have mcafee but it has expired and doesnt work anymore
if you have messenger or myspace feel free to contact me and help me resolve this so I can enjoy music again.

I answered your post here (connection problems) -- anyway here it is again --
In Limewire Links (below) click on (If LW will not connect) and go through these fixes -- if still no good click on (Fixes for LW when LW isn't operating as it should) if after all this your problem remains click on (system details) fill in and post back here

When I purchased Pro, I kept the link in My Documents. I have been having problems connecting, as well. I downloaded Pro again from the link I had saved, it removed the previous Limewire and re-installed the same program. So far, it is working/connecting fine.

That's a very wise move -- I do that all the time with software I download just in case of problems with the latest versions.
