Can't get LW to connect

I just installed Limewire v4.18.2 on my Windows XP home edtion (SP2) PC. I have an internet connection via Verizion using a D-Link DI-614+ wireless router. Everytime I open limewire the connection indicator stay on one bar and the firewall indicator show a firewall has been dectected. I've checked the Windows firewall setting and limewire is listed as an execption, I even added the listening port to the expection list, with no success... I alos have cybersitter v9.0 installed on this PC, for my kids. I have used older versions of limewire in the past without encountering this probelm... does anyone have any suggestions on what else I can check?!?

Did you have a old version ?? If so do a search using search on xp and find everything limewire and delete it all and do a new install Make sure you download Java 6 first

I had no luck then did that and it worked

wrote about 2 weeks ago about not connecting to limewire pro still not connected even though i paid for it i gave up on trying to connect but how can i do a search and make sure i erase the old version

If you have XP go to start look for search Do a search in all file and folders for lime wire

After that same place do it for hidden folders

delete all lime wire

In Limewire Links (below) click on (If LW will not connect) and go through these fixes -- if still no good click on (system details) fill in and post back here
