![]() I have a laptop with LimeWire Pro that will not connect to download songs... it is rather frustrating. I used to have the regular free version of LimeWire and when it stopped connecting I thought maybe upgrading to Pro would help but it hasn't so now I've just wasted $13.00 so it would be nice if someone would please figure out why LimeWire isn't connecting. Here is all the information the sticky says I need to post: 1. OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) with one user account that is designated as an administrator. 2. I have Windows Firewall enabled and the latest version of McAfee SecurityCenter. 3. I have 1918 MB of RAM. 4. I have 9.92 GB of hard disk space available. 5. Cable internet connection. 6. Modem: Motorola SBV5220 SURFBoard Cable Modem Router: Linksys WRT54G Router 7. I'm trying to connect from my home. 8. LimeWire: LimeWire 4.18.3 Pro Java: 1.6.0_06 9. Time Warner Cable (Roadrunner) 10. "Your Test Worked!" 11. There are three computers using our router. My laptop which is running Windows Vista and LimeWire Pro, the desktop which the router is hooked up to and is running Windows XP Service Pack 2 and LimeWire 4.14.10, and my brother's laptop which I'm not sure is running LimeWire or not. My Nintendo Wii is also using the router as its internet signal, (I don't know if that is relevant or not.) 12. I have had LimeWire on both my laptop and the desktop before and it just recently started not connecting on either of the systems. I can't remember if there have been any recent programs installed that might be causing this conflict. 13. Yes, there is an icon showing that a firewall is blocking the connection at the bottom of the LimeWire tray, but I have both the Windows Firewall and McAfee set to allow LimeWire through them. 14. My Linksys router is UPnP enabled. 15. I am using Windows Firewall on Windows Vista, and McAfee's Firewall. 16. I live in the United States. I would appreciate if someone could help me resolve this problem A.S.A.P, thank you very much ahead of time. My e-mail address is neofawkes@yahoo.com if you would like to contact me. If you need more information my AIM screen name is cupershawn and my YIM screen name is nitrofawkes. Thanks again : ) UPDATE: Apparently the desktop is connecting, (I wasn't waiting long enough.) So I waited even longer with my laptop and it still won't connect so that's not the problem. But this only puzzles me further that the desktop can connect yet my laptop which is using the same internet connect, can't... Last edited by neofawkes; July 3rd, 2008 at 10:42 AM. Reason: Update |
