i need help connecting please!!!
 
im having problems i recently hooked my computer back up i cleaned everything out of it and reinstalled limewire when i installed the first time i opened the prog it connected and now after that it takes like 35 0r 40 minutes with limewire being open to connect and like 50 percent of th time it wont even connect is there anything i can do to make it connect faster or anything? i have read basically all the posts did everything with the firewall turned off the tips checked all the settings and did everything i could think of someone please help if you can!!!




1. OS version? windows xp professional
2. What firewalls you have? firewalls on my computer are turned off (limewire still shows a firewall)
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? comcast modem model # mac 0019474c1696
7. Where are you trying to connect from: House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? limewire 4.18.6 java 1.6.0_07
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? comcast
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it said your test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. not sharing
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. new problem with experienced user had lw on this computer before
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface yes_
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? i dont have a router
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? i dont currently have an antivirus program
16. What country are you living in? usa

Your problem could be your ISP: Comcast - check this link out (ISP's known to block P2p or LW) -- try connecting at different times -- preferably non peak times

help connecting
 
im not sure if thats the problem or not i have been trying different stuff for 2 days now once today it connected with full strength but the the program stopped responding and i had to reopen the program and now it wont connect again:(:(

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html ... I had a sudden connection problem some days back. After I disabled Performance & OOB, it connected fine. :)

i tried that to just a few minutes ago and it still wont work!!!!! i think im just about to give up on limewire im completley out of ideas :(
