Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network. (not about connecting to files, that is a Download/Upload Problems section issue.) Please supply system details as described in the forum rules.

That means the connection port is being blocked by something. Yes it might be semi related to your attempted port forwarding. Did you try rebooting & reloading that page?

Did you set up a static ip before you port forwarded?

Ah .. I just realised ... you are using the network with another desktop computer. Now .. is that computer also using LW? If yes, then make sure they are not using the same port. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools > Options > Advanced > Firewalls. Now check both listening & connection ports on both LW's on each computer. Are they the same? If yes, then you will need to change the ports of one. That means you may need to redo your port forwarding. Safe ports to use are (49152 - 65535) such as port 64049.

FYI: routers will reserve a particular port for each program for each computer. So if you have used a particular port for connection & listening thru on one program, then you'd need to use a different port for a different program. That also applies for different computers on the network. eg: if you had LW on 4 computers on network, each would need to use different connection & listening ports.
