| Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network.

Could connect but now i cant....
ok so i had the same problem as everyone else i couldnt connect to limewire, but then yesterday i forwarded the ports to limewire and it worked!
then today i try and get back on limewire and it says it cant connect. my ports are still forwarded on my router and computer and i even forwarded the ports to gnutella on my router and it still didnt work.... any help would be appreciated! -Kronos

Have a Windows XP sys; Broad Band connection .
having an earlier version of LM - was using it for over a year. Now with new version down loaded LM14.8.8 : LM tips come on ; the emblem shows below of right hand of screen- even sometimes LW emblem shows on screen loading... But after that nothing happens .. the screen that supposed to show does not.. whats wrong.. every thing seems ok.. there are no errors posted

After you deleted your LW preferences folder, did you have to go through LW's setup wizard all over again? Did you make sure that LW was completely closed before you deleted the prefs folder & deleted/replaced your gnutella.net file? Go & find your gnutella.net file, hover your cursor over the file - how big is the file? After you changed things within LW's tools > options (eg listening port, performance options) did you make sure to click Apply to save the change? Did you try both updating to the latest Java & reverting to the older 5.0_11 version? If you really have tried everything If LW Will Not Connect then we'll need your system details in order to help you more
