Isn't there some option to add Limewire.exe to exceptions?

Also if your AVG comes with a complete firewall, shut the Windows one off as you should not use both at the same time. On that note.. what's your operating system? e.g. XP, VISTA etc.

You should have firewall protection however. See if adding LW as an exception will not upset things if you turn the windows firewall back on, Setting up an exception for LimeWire in your software firewall (click in link). If it does upset things, then it sounds like there was two firewalls.

Well if it's the AVG security suite and not just the free antivirus, then it already has a firewall.

..But guess we'll never know
