Do the port test http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ again... if the port test doesn't work then you should see an error (big box) saying that the page could not be displayed. If the test is successful, there'll be writing in the top left corner but it may be hard to see if you only look at the page quickly. I've never seen the page totally blank.

From what I can see your modem doesn't support UPnP. But in LW go tools > options > advanced > listening ports & you'll see whether the button to use UPnP is checked. If not, is the 'manual port forward' button checked?

Different versions of LW run differently on different computers - so sometimes updating or upgrading can cause problems. Very often, deleting LW's preferences folder can be the fix if the problem suddenly happens after upd@ting/upgrading. You can find info about deleting the prefs folder (named LimeWire) here: If LW 5 Will Not Connect
Read the instructions carefully & just remember that if LW's options don't revert to default after deleting the prefs folder & restarting LW, it hasn't been done properly & you'll need to start again

What's the last LW version that you were running without any problems?

The deleting gnutella.net fix is only intended for LW 5.0 (very old version) users. The LW developers had said that it was no longer necessary to delete that file in later LW versions.

Which listening port are you using now?

If nothing above helps then post back & we can give you info about port forwarding for your modem.

Default keep the suggestions coming...

Ok, I tried running the port test again and it came out the same...white blank page. Everything was done running and I waiting 10 minutes to see if anything would come up but it didn't.

I tried deleting the preference folder and it did run me through everything but still no connecting. When I check under the advance settings, there aren't any hosts even being listed.

The UPnP box was checked. The initial numbers are gnutella port: 42066, and the BitTorrent ports: 6881 to 6889 which was also checked UPnP. I tried changing the UPnP check to the Maual Port Forward: 6346 then exit and restart LW but nothing. I went back in and took the BitTorrent UPnP check and moved it to Do Nothing and that didn't help either. So right now the Gnutella port: 42066 "Manual Port Forward: 6346" and the BitTorent ports: 6881 to 6889 "do nothing" sections are checked.

As for the last LW that worked, I don't even know it's been so long. I can say that I've unstalled all LW from my computer so the only one on there is the most current version Pro.

So what should I do next? BTW, I really do appreciate your help. The LW support suggestion was useless and now I'm waiting for another suggestion.

Try making listening port number & manual port forward number (even though you don't have port forwarding set up) the same number. Make sure to click 'ok' to save the change.

Have you tried disabling McAfee, turning on Win firewall & then allowing LW access through that? This link has more info: Windows Firewall - LimeWire

I can't give you a link to a Pro version. But if you want to try an older basic version, we can give you links to download older basic (NOT Pro) versions. Maybe you were originally using LW 4? Or a really early version of LW 5? But we don't know!!

The reason that LW don't offer refunds on Pro is because the basic version is free to use at any time, for as long as you like.

I guess the idea is to try a basic version, see if it works for you & if so then buy the Pro version if you want to.

It makes sense to try before you buy... if people buy before trying a version (sometimes people will have probs with one particular version) then it's hard luck if that particular version doesn't work for them
We don't work for LW - it's just common sense to use basic first, before buying Pro.

Depending on whether you bought 6 or 12 months worth of Pro, you might find that another version down the road works fine for you. Sometimes happens. But in the meantime, if you'd like to try installing an older basic version then let us know.
However if you bought the 'one-off' $13.95 no support & no updates version of Pro... make sure to save the installer. Otherwise it will be removed completely if you install a basic version!

Default confused

Ok, I'm just a little confused so if you could help me with where to put the numbers. You said to make the listening port number and manual port number the same, I'm not sure what number is the listening port number. The area's that have places for numbers are:

Gnutella port: xxxxxx
Manual Port Forward: 6346 (this is listed under gnutella) this one is checked

BitTorrent ports: xxxx to xxxx (6881 to 6889)
I have "Do Nothing" checked off under this one

Sorry, I mess around with computers a bit but this is where my knowledge ends
